DWF bolsters Birmingham with Buller Jeffries tie-up
- Details
Fast-growing national law firm DWF is to merge with Birmingham-based Buller Jeffries at the beginning of May.
The move comes only a few months after DWF linked up with North-East practice Crutes.
However, talks with Cobbetts that would have seen a much larger combination foundered in January, with the two sides blaming uncertainty in market conditions.
Buller Jeffries is best known for its insurance practice. It acted for Zurich in the so-called Trigger Litigation, where judgment was handed down by the Supreme Court last week.
The firm has acted for local authorities in a number of areas, notably in cases where claimants alleged a ‘failure to educate’.
Andrew Leaitherland, Managing Partner at DWF, said: “This merger with Buller Jeffries represents our latest commitment to our Birmingham offering. As a firm we are passionate about investing in all of our regional locations to further increase our ability to provide our clients with the best possible support where it’s needed most.”
Roger Coates, Senior Partner at Buller Jeffries, added: “This merger will be good for our people and good for our clients."
