Working with Childrens Data - Act Now

Working with Childrens Data - Act Now

Children's lives are surrounded by the use of their personal data, much of that without their knowledge. In a world which often is not designed with children in mind, it is our job when working with their data to make sure we are protecting them and their rights; whether that is in schools, social care, health and wellbeing or as app designers and companies creating technology with children in mind.

This workshop will support delegates to understand the rules, legislation and code of practice around the use of children's data in a range of settings considering data use, risk management, rights and transparency. It will give practical advice and support delegates to understand how to apply data protection principles and the children's code to their work.

By the end of the workshop you will understand the different rules when working with children's data, recognise when the children's code applies, why it is important and how to apply it, appreciate human rights of the child and how they apply to their work, apply data subjects' rights to children's data and understand and apply the unique requirements of transparency to children's data.
