Council faces legal action over approval of planning for poultry farm
- Details
An action group is seeking to raise funds for a judicial review of a council’s approval of a planning application for a poultry farm.
The Tasley Chicken Factory Farm Action Group said it hoped to raise £1,500 by 10 October via the Crowd Justice website to pay for the first stage of the judicial review of Shropshire Council’s decision in relation to the farm near Bridgnorth. So far it has raised £1,225 through 34 pledges.
The funds will allow it to prepare the pre-action protocol letter and apply for permission from the court. The group estimates that it will cost £30,000 to £40,000 for a full judicial review.
Some 210,000 chickens would be housed on the farm if the planning permission is implemented, the group said.
