Public law specialists among new tenants at 39 Essex Chambers

39 Essex Chambers has bolstered its public law, regulatory and construction practices with the arrival of three new tenants.
They are:
- Simon Murray, who specialises in all areas of public law and human rights work and related actions against public bodies. He has particular expertise of judicial review, as well as practising more generally in the fields of professional negligence, data protection, employment and other common law matters, the set said. He is appointed to the Attorney General’s A Panel of Counsel.
- Rachel Troup, who has a multi-disciplinary litigation practice with particular specialisms in public law, investigations, regulatory and disciplinary matters, corporate offences, inquiries and inquests. The set said Troup is ideally positioned to advise and to act in any matters where criminal sanctions may be in play. Troup is currently instructed as counsel to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.
- David Sawtell, who specialises in substantial construction and property disputes, as well as commercial dispute resolution. According to 39 Essex Chambers, he is frequently instructed in cases involving the development and use of land, buildings and property, as well as matters involving serious commercial, insolvency and company law issues.
