University of Law names Trowers’ Randall as visiting professor

Leading public sector specialist Helen Randall has been appointed Visiting Professor at The University of Law.
A partner in the Public Sector Commercial team at Trowers & Hamlins, Randall will undertake a regular commitment to the activities of the university whilst remaining a full-time partner at the firm and continuing to advise clients.
The visiting professorship position is unpaid and will last for a period of three years.
The firm said that to be appointed a Visiting Professor, Randall had met stringent criteria, including demonstrating:
- An outstanding record of innovation in the field of legal practice;
- An outstanding contribution to furthering knowledge and its application through publication and professional practice; and
- An outstanding contribution to the development of the legal profession on a national basis, including high-level involvement in the work of professional, consultative and government bodies.
Randall has acted on a number of innovative public-private partnerships, many of which have been pathfinders and won awards.
She has chaired the New Local Government Network and has also contributed through the Business Services Association to the development of government policy with respect to outsourcing.
