Council names 10 chambers to barristers framework

Bedford Borough Council has appointed ten sets of chambers to a barristers’ framework.
The council said the framework “will provide a route to market for the purchase of barristers' services, where there is demand for capacity or specialist expertise that cannot be met within the council's in-house Legal Services Unit”.
The framework is divided into the following lots:
- Adults, Children and Education
- Governance, Planning, Property and Litigation
The successful suppliers for lot 1 were:
- 1GC
- 3 DJB
- 33 Bedford Row
- 4 Brick Court
- Cornerstone Barristers
- Harcourt Chambers
- Landmark Chambers
- New Court Chambers
- St Albans Chambers
- The 36 Group
The successful providers for lot 2 were:
- Cornerstone Barristers
- Landmark Chambers
- The 36 Group
The framework is to run from 12 June 2026 to 12 April 2028, with a possible extension to 12 April 2030.
