Ombudsman names four law firms to call-off contracts for legal advice

The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman has selected four law firms for individual call-off contracts to provide legal services.
The successful firms were Bevan Brittan, Browne Jacobson, Capsticks and DMH Stallard. The Ombudsman said 10 offers had been received.
The award criteria were the most economically advantageous tender in terms of:
- Understanding and approach (weighting 30);
- Quality assurance (15);
- Resources, including staff (30);
- Contract implementation (5);
- Contract management (5);
- Deadlines and budgets (15).
The Ombudsman’s role is to investigate complaints that individuals have been treated unfairly or have received poor service from government departments and other public organisations and the NHS in England.
