11KBW local government QC appointed as High Court judge

An 11KBW QC who specialises in local government law has been appointed a High Court judge assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division with effect from this week (4 June).
Tim Kerr QC’s appointment follows the retirement of Mr Justice Eder.
Called to the Bar by Gray’s Inn in 1983, Kerr also practised in education law, administrative law, sports arbitration and employment.
He took silk in 2001, was appointed a Recorder in 2008 and had already been approved to sit as a deputy High Court Judge.
Kerr also served as a Fee-paid Chairman of the Employment Tribunals (England and Wales) from 2001 to 2006.
