City council to procure £600k childcare advocacy barrister services

Liverpool City Council has launched a procurement for the provision of childcare advocacy barrister services.
The range of cases to be supported include the following:
- Childcare cases
- Discharges of s.31 care orders
- Adoption applications
- Secure accommodation orders
- Forced marriage
- Female genital mutilation
- Honour based violence
The contract will be for an initial period of 6 months, but may be extended at the sole discretion of the council for a further period of up to 12 months. The 12 month extension may be broken up into smaller extensions up to a maximum of 12 months.
The contract, which is worth an estimated £600,000, is expected to run from 2 March 2018.
