Court of Protection specialist swaps local government for barristers chambers

Matthew Angus has joined the Court of Protection and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards teams at KBG Chambers from Devon County Council where he was a locum solicitor.

Angus was called to the Bar in 1997 and became a solicitor in 2007.

He started working in the areas of adult social care and mental health, as a solicitor, at Staffordshire County Council.

Over the next ten years, he has gained a great deal of experience of Court of Protection work, the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) and Adult Social Care, working at Wigan Council, law firm Kennedys and Devon County Council.

Deni Mathews, Head of KBG Chambers, said: "We are delighted that Matthew has joined our COP and DOLS teams. He brings a vast amount of knowledge and experience with him and this only enhances our team with his presence.”

Angus has removed himself from the roll of solicitors following his return to the Bar.
