Six new High Court judges appointed, with another ten on the way
The Courts and Tribunals Judiciary said it anticipated that a further ten appointments would be announced in the coming months.
The six judges are:
- Kelyn Bacon QC of Brick Court Chambers, who will be assigned to the Chancery Division.
- Charles Bourne QC of 11KBW, who will be assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division.
- Rowena Collins Rice, formerly of the Attorney General’s Office, who will be assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division.
- Nigel Poole QC of Kings Chambers, who will be assigned to the Family Division.
- Mary Stacey, a Circuit Judge in the Employment Tribunal, who will be assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division.
- Mark Wall QC, who will be assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division.
The appointments, which fill vacancies in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements, will take effect from 1 October 2020.

£116,502.11 - £121,679.98 per annum
Director of Legal and Governance
Up to £109,000 per annum
Associate Director - Legal and Democratic Services
£81,192 - £89,989 per annum, plus £5,000 Monitoring Officer allowance
Principal Lawyer – Litigation and Licensing
£61,325 - £70,706 per annum
